01 Does auto-planning apply the EU driving and rest rules?
It enforces the duty-hour caps you configure — daily, weekly and fortnightly, 9, 56 and 90 hours by default, taken from the EU driving limits — and never proposes a driver who would exceed them. With Samsara connected it counts the driving time the tachograph actually recorded. It does not model breaks, daily and weekly rest periods or the 12-day derogation, so those stay with your planner and your tachograph analysis.
02 Can we still assign by hand?
Always. Manual assignment runs the same availability checks. If a manual assignment would take a driver past an hour cap you get a warning and can choose to assign anyway; auto-planning never does.
03 What happens to bookings it can't crew?
They stay unassigned with the reason attached — no free vehicle with enough seats, no driver with the right licence, everyone over their hours — so you know whether to re-time the job, call someone in or subcontract it.
04 What if the vehicle class we sold isn't free?
Auto-planning can propose a different class and flags it as a substitution, so you can tell the customer before the day.
05 Does auto-planning cost extra?
No. It is part of the platform at €15 per vehicle per month, with unlimited drivers and users.
